Saying Hello

As one can never have too many journals, I've created an insane one too, as a backup backup (but it might be promoted to just backup in preference to GJ). I've managed to fill it with an awful lot of stuff already, as I've used LJ-Sec to back up my LJ both here and at my GJ. The only drawback is that all username links go to the wrong place, but as it is only for backup purposes I don't mind that. I followed brown-betty's lj instructions (http://brown-betty.livejournal.com/284083.html) and they worked like a dream.

Still not happy with the layout, but can't be bothered to fiddle with it any more, and at least I can now change my userpic on entries and comments from the default, thanks to hesadevil.

Don't plan on updating here regularly, if at all, but who knows when LJ's going to go all peculiar on me again.

Got a text message from Chris this morning:

It's 3am and I'm sitting in a bar watching girls dance in cages.

And I needed to know that why? Methinks he'd had one or two beers too many as well.

Still, he was pretty p'd off judging by the previous text - travelled 10 hours from Barcelona to Bilbao and back, for a one hour meeting in Balbao. He also has to go to Madrid on Friday, instead of coming home, so instead of being back by 6.30 pm, he'll be here at about 11.30pm, as long as he manages to catch the last flight out of Madrid. Plus he still has to get done all the stuff he went to Barcelona for in the first place. (Hope he feels better now I've ranted on his behalf).

At last, some time to sit and the computer and read through my flist. Chris came back from the States bearing gifts - necklaces and fake tattoos, jigsaw puzzles and some random country and motown music. Mum had a good visit - spent most of it doing puzzles and watching renditions of 'Joseph and his multicoloured coat'.

Bethan did her primary ballet exam last Sunday, completely took it in her stride, as did all the other little ones. The waiting room, however, was full of stressed-out mothers. It brought back all the feelings I used to get before sitting an exam, and I could feel myself withdrawing from my surroundings - most peculiar, as I hadn't remembered that that was how I got before exams until it happened.

Bethan has plans for us for the Easter break, which include going to the pub (she's advanced for six), buying Ellen a new bike, visiting a farm and going on an Easter Egg hunt. Doesn't leave much time for anything else, so I'll say HAPPY EASTER to all, and go and buy some hot cross buns.

Spent several hours yesterday in the loft sorting through boxes of books, which has left me thinking about how my reading tastes have changed over the years. Much as it pains me to get rid of books, there are at least a hundred which I know I will never want to read again, and I now have to decide their means of disposal. The loft is looking ~~much~~ a little tidier now and I found the two missing books which were the cause of the sorting-out in the first place.

Off now to do a little "spring poking" in the back garden. No, I don't think I'm being spied on, but I want to hang some washing out and can't find the hole that the rotary line fits in. Oh the joys of improving weather.
